Meet the Career Development Center
Jane Hsu
Manager, Career Development Room 608 Email: [email protected] Jane’s primary focus is creating an overall strategy for supporting student development in regards to career exploration and pre-professional advising. She counsels students, implements professional development trainings, and is involved in building stronger employer relations with the university. Jane previously worked in advertising and marketing as well as various U.S. higher education institutions, including University of California San Diego and George Washington University. She earned her undergraduate degree from the NYU Steinhardt School of Education in Communications and holds a master’s degree in International Education Policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She welcomes students, alumni and employers to connect with her about career related inquiries!
Hao Guo
Manager, Career Development Room 608 Email: [email protected] Hao “Hao Hao” Guo is responsible for providing guidance, advice, and support to students through their career planning, decision-making, and job search processes. She primarily focuses on employer relations and services and also collaborates closely with the NYU campus in New York City and NYU Abu Dhabi career development centers. She holds a master’s degree from East China Normal University.
Yuwei Gu
Associate, Career Development Room 608 Email: [email protected] Yuwei Gu manages the entire On-Campus Job Program which offers valuable pre-professional skills to our undergraduate students. She organizes the On Campus Job Fair, application process, hiring process, student training, supervisor training, payment process and evaluation of the program. In addition, she supports all of the center's career related events, workshops, seminars and panels. Yuwei earned her master's degree from East China Normal University.
James P. Bowditch III
Global Academic Fellow in Writing, Career Development Room 607 Email: [email protected] JP’s primary role for the CDC is to research, develop, organize, and lead seminars on Anglophone professionalism to help students successfully enter and navigate the English-speaking business world. JP also offers brief, one-on-one consultations during the CDC’s walk-in hours. Apart from his work with the CDC, JP provides academic writing tutorship, leads the ARC Philosophy Society, and coaches the Ultimate Frisbee team. Before coming to NYU Shanghai, JP worked at an education nonprofit organization in Philadelphia and earned his BA in Philosophy, with a minor in Sociology from Haverford College.
Chenjie ( Susie) Huang
Global Academic Fellow in Business and Finance, Career Development Office 606 Email: [email protected] Susie is mainly focuses on organizing career development related seminars, especially seminars tailored for Chinese students. She is trying to combine her own career-developing experience with Chinese culture to better help students with their career path both in China and globally. In addition to her work at the Career Development Center, Susie is also a GAF in Business and Finance. Students are welcome to go to her for any consultation related to career or the business world. Before coming to NYU Shanghai, Susie graduated from NYU Stern with her Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting and Master’s degree in Accounting.
Krisztian Kovacs
Global Academic Fellow in Economics and Mathematics, Career Development Office 1065 Email: [email protected] Krisztian Kovacs graduated as part of the first cohort of students of NYU Abu Dhabi. His interests are diverse; while majoring in economics and mathematics, he also took classes in creative writing and philosophy. In college he mentored middle school students in mathematics. Krisztian also interned in the university’s Department of Campus Life, helping fellow students to establish a platform to teach each other subjects such as cooking, playing the guitar, or practicing Tai Chi. In his free time Krisztian enjoys talking to a small group of friends, reading the work of the ancient Stoics, or doing Vipassana-style meditation.
Eunjae So
Global Academic Fellow in Business and Finance, Career Development Room 608 Email: [email protected] Eunjae is responsible for planning, organizing and managing marketing activities and projects at NYU Shanghai Career Development Center. She also serves as a liaison for the NYU Shanghai Career Development Center, providing career counseling and outreach to students, alumni and faculty. Students are welcome to consult her about any career-related questions and concerns during her CDC walk-in hours. Aside from her duties at CDC, Eunjae works together with the Business and Finance faculty members and provides academic support to her students by leading recitation classes and tutoring hours. She earned both her B.A. degree in Finance and B.S./M.S. degree in Accounting from NYU Stern School of Business. What We Can Help You With!
