Student Life and Residence Committee (SLR)

Improvements in Progress: Better water filtration program for Motel 268; Trashcan for the 268 laundry room; fixing the dryer machines in the laundry room; improving the dining hall by labeling food ingredients, offering halal options, and regulating food temperature; providing bicycles at 268; assisting with negotiations for sports facilities at YuanShen Stadium. What has been improved: Creation and distribution of “Do Not Disturb/Do Not Clean” door signs; mail and package policies for Motel 268; Visitor policy at Motel 268; Assistance in resolving room issues of ‘06, ‘07, ‘16, ‘17; Assistance in designing the room exchange policy.

Event Programming Committee

Upcoming Events: Carnival of the Dead: Carnival of the Dead (死亡嘉年华) is NYU Shanghai's October Celebration where we celebrate Halloween, Ghost Festival, Día de Muertos and others. Event is on October 31st at the Academic Building.

In Progress: Club Budgeting for October-December; New Club Development (NCD) Timeline; Appointed member Application. Completed: Club Budgeting for September.

Executive Board

NYU Shanghai Student Government Summit: On Saturday, October 18th the student government representatives from nine local universities will be welcomed at NYU Shanghai to build inter-university relationships. Club Leaders will be invited to meet and network with local universities for the benefit of their club events. Presidential Search Hearing: On Thursday, October 9th, 7:30-9:00pm, streamed live from New York, students will have the opportunity to be informed on the search for John Sexton’s successor and the new president of NYU.

Elections Announcement Party

On Wednesday, October 8th, 6:00-8:00pm on the 15th Floor winners of the Fall 2014 Elections will be announced.

Clubs: in charge of club budgeting, new club development, and club event support

Event Programming: in charge of planning and hosting school wide events and celebrations

Student Life and Residence (SLR): in charge of improving student life in the dormitory and academic building

Global Affairs Committee (GAC): in charge of facilitating communication and cooperation as wells as fostering relationships across the NYU schools and sites through the Global Student Council)
