New Staff Appointments

As we embark on a second year in the development of New York University Shanghai, here is a note regarding new dean appointments that have taken place since the Spring 2014 Semester, and will be appropriated in the upcoming year.

Provost Xiao-Jing Wang is stepping down as Provost, and will become the Associate Vice Chancellor for Research at NYU Shanghai.

Our prior Dean of Arts and Sciences, Joanna Waley-Cohen, will assume the role of Provost of NYU Shanghai.

Dave Fitch will provisionally hold the role of Dean of Arts and Sciences for the 2014-15 academic year.

Eitan Zemel will assume the role of Associate Vice Chancellor for Strategy and Dean of Business, whereas he previously served as our inaugural Dean of Business and Engineering.

Keith Ross will assume the role of Dean of Computer Science and Engineering, whereas he previously served as our inaugural Vice Dean of Business and Engineering.

Fanghua Lin will assume the role of Associate Provost for the Quantitative Disciplines, whereas he previously served as the inaugural leader of our Joint Institute of Mathematical Sciences.

Yuxin Chen will assume the role of Vice Dean of Business, whereas he previously served as our first Distinguished Global Professor.

Charlene Visconti will be succeeding Tyra Liebmann as the second Dean of Students at NYU Shanghai.
