NYU Abu Dhabi Student Infected With TuberculosisA school-wide email was sent to NYU Abu Dhabi students on Oct. 16 notifying them a student on campus had been infected with tuberculosis. The student, according to the email, was discovered to be infected during the routine UAE residence visa health screening. Anyone who had close contact with the individual was required to go through a PPD skin test to test for the disease.
NYU President Andrew Hamilton Visits CampusNYU President Andrew Hamilton visited NYU Abu Dhabi this October in an inauguration tour around NYU’s portal campuses. The visit was considered a successful ceremonial introduction to the NYU Abu Dhabi community. Important for some students, Hamilton addressed concerns that had been brought up around Islamic New Year regarding increasing understanding and awareness across the NYU network. Hamilton generally asserted his intentions to increase funding for the sciences at NYU and focus more on improving NYU’s existing global infrastructure.
Staff Appreciation Day NYU Abu Dhabi's semesterly Staff Appreciation Day was held Oct. 27. The event celebrated the work of the staffers at the university in an event filled with music, food, and games.
