Winter’s coming, it’s the season to spend the relaxing afternoon in the dorm, hide from the cold, and look forward to winter break! “Well my room is kinda messy” “Uhmm I have no idea how to make it warm and sweet”…Lucky you! We’ve got many nice photos of room decoration from our students, as well as their ideas about how to make your room neat and beautiful!

The "caves" -- that's what Oscar and I call our dorm room -- we had two bunk beds, mattress moved to the floor, and canvas attached around it.

Lying in the cave, looking at the Christmas lights twinkling inside the cave, is probably the most enjoyable way I could ever think of to end a busy day. And that's exactly the point of setting up the "caves" -- to make the dorm not just a place to sleep but also one to rest our soul. _Sam 陈诗允

For me, moving to Shanghai from home meant that I wanted my dorm room to resemble my room in Massachusetts. I wanted a place to come home to at the end of the day that would remind me of all of my family and friends in Massachusetts, what life is like there. So, I printed off picture after picture of friends and families and dug up old concert, plane, or train ticket stubs and taped them all over the wall above my desk. That way, when I'm stressing out over an essay or a problem set, I can look up and remember that really Shanghai is only part of my life - a big part of my life is still at home. _Allison Chesky

从知道大二要换寝室的时候就已经在开始期待，小小的268真的无法让学校里众多热爱生活想要好好布置寝室的人满足，当然也包括我。从move-in见到新寝室的那一刻开始就在思考，到底如何才能让寝室变得富有生活气息而不只是一个能够提供我一席睡觉之地的空间。幸运的是，较之去年，我终于在寝室里有了一抹属于自己的飘窗。 好在大一时候买的地毯没被狠心扔掉，才在新寝室里有了用武之地：我做的第一件事就是把这块驼色长毛地毯铺在飘窗上，让白色大理石飘窗看上去不再是光秃秃的冰冷，也是为了在冬天不会产生难以下坐的尴尬。又托同学从宜家买了张深褐色拉克桌放在地毯上，这样便大大方便了和朋友坐在飘窗上聊天谈心喝茶。对了，有了飘窗之后另外一大好处就是，之前同学送我的一只两米的玩偶大熊也终于能有了自己的归属。就这样，他就很自然地坐在了拉克桌没有地毯的一端，也是很自然地，成了我坐在飘窗上的首选位置，从此他便被赋予了一个新的名字：熊型整体环抱沙发。 另外一处不得不提的是飘窗壁上的树叶照片墙贴纸。共计80多片绿叶和树干树枝全由纯手工粘贴，站在门口看去就像是从长毛地毯上长出的小树林。除此之外，房间里的很多生活用品和小装饰品，如插座，桌板，床上四件套等等均为果绿色，也和照片墙相互辉映，共成一体。 有了如此的房间布置之后，便总愿意去过着这样的生活：在浅浅的阳光午后，泡一杯蜂蜜绿茶，盘着腿坐在棕色大熊上，在面前的拉克桌上置一本书，头倚在落地窗上，看着窗外的街景，伴着眼前袅袅的水汽，缓缓拾起眼前的书，翻阅一两页，尽是文字的墨香味。 _Quintus 王子赫

My ideal dorm room would give me a sense of home and my unique memories. Since I have huge collection of postcards, it would be very cool if stick them on the wall, which can also remind me of the great traveling experience all over the places. I live in a triple with two of my best friends, and people usually would like to hang out here. I added some lights around the bed, and this is one of my favorites parts of my room. It gives me a truly cozy feeling. For my working space, I want to create a truly quite and calm atmosphere. So I brought some tiny plants and decorations, such as some paintings, posters and little containers. At night, my room becomes a place for meditation, I would make some tea and chill here. The peace always makes me fulfilled after a string day of work. I would like to recommend "blue-tack" which is a kind of sticker that can easily stick any of your cards, decors or even clocks on the wall _Benny 张炜仑 Now you must have some ideas to decorate your room, we are looking forward to see your room pictures in the future!
