NYU.FASHION Takes on Shanghai

NYU New York’s online independent student publication NYU.FASHION has made its way to Shanghai.

NYU.FASHION is an online fashion and lifestyle publication run by NYU students. The website itself resembles Vogue.com, with student-written articles about fashion and lifestyle. It also features a #HangingOut section, in which they interview prominent figures in the fashion world. In April, they even met with world-famous fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff.Youme Lin, a senior at Gallatin and the founder of NYU.FASHION, reached out to multiple students at NYU Shanghai to expand her website’s network. “We’ve always wanted to expand NYU.FASHION globally, and we thought Shanghai, being one of the world’s fashion capitals, would be the perfect place for us to establish our organization,” Lin said. She also talked about her summer term in Shanghai last year, and how she instantly fell in love with the city. She hopes the partnership with Shanghai will expand the website culturally and allow the two campuses to inspire each other. As founder, she manages the website’s day-to-day operations and also focuses on creating partnerships with brands and companies. Aside from the business side, she truly loves the relationships she builds with her team in New York, which is something she hopes she can have with the students in Shanghai.“My favorite thing about being a founder is to be able to work with such an amazing team of young and ambitious people who are constantly aiming to share the great content and striving to become the best version of themselves each day. They are my rock stars,” Lin said. Soon enough, Shanghai content will be uploaded onto the website and Instagram. Check them out here:
