Health counseling services don’t go all the way

NYUSH students with no previous counseling experience but hoping to find solutions to their deeper mental health problems through university services are not always getting the answers they need.
About 30 rising senior Chinese students, from the class of 2023, who haven’t fulfilled their study away requirements now need to complete them in their senior year. Some major concerns had been holding them back from committing to other NYU global sites to meet this specific graduation requirement.
The value of NYU Shanghai’s course evaluation methods has been questioned by students who are keen to see the practice changed to enhance their learning experience.
Paul Salopek was invited to NYUSH to talk about his career achievements and work progress on the Out of Eden project, which is estimated to take many years. He also gave a writing workshop for students. In both events, Salopek emphasized the importance of being slow in the generation of stories.
